Do you think Sotomayor was picked because she was most qualified, or to be bait for Republicans?

She was picked for a little of both. She is qualified but could also prove to be bait for Republicans. The Republican leadership has already realized that while they don't totally agree with her opinions and views, blocking her confirmation could damage the party. I believe that Republicans are going to ask some tough questions and some may vote against her nomination, but eventually she will be confirmed by the Senate and sit on the Supreme Court.
