This about a gift question on guys shoes?

k so I found a really sick pair of pumas that I wanna get my boyfriend for christmas but I don't know what size to get him...He normally wears a 8 1/2 to 9 in shoe size and I wanna know what size he would wear in pumas...also he has wide feet! so will that be a problem?
