Why did Adolf Hitler and his Generals drink from a Cup?

Possibly some perversion of the Eucharist. Hitler believed himself to be something of a messianic figure so it probably seemed fitting to him that he broke bread and shared a cup of wine with his generals. I did read that Hitler and Himmler dabbled in the Occult so I don't know how Christian he professed to be but in practice, he was devoid of any virtue of Christianity.
