Are there really people out there who can't spell the word "baby"?
I stumbled over a question on here yesterday, asking "How is babby made?". Never mind the ridiculousness of the question & the poor grammar, but the person actually misspelled the word "baby" (and it wasn't just a typo). I decided to do a Google search on the word "babby" (to make sure that the person wasn't, in fact, speaking about something that actually existed. Maybe they weren't talking about a baby at all. Maybe babby is some sort of foreign dish or something, and they wanted to know how to make it. I don't know). Anyway, it turns out that they weren't talking about anything I'd never heard of, and in fact, WERE talking about a baby. When you do a search on Yahoo Answers on the word "babby", a disturbing number of posts come up. I find it quite alarming that so many people cannot spell the word "baby". It is one of the easiest words in the English language. Has our educational system really deteriorated so much that people can't spell some of the easiest words?
